The Experiment - DVD Release Date and Trailer

The Experiment was a film that I worked on last summer.  It's a remake of the German film Das Experiment based on the infamous Stanford Prison Experiments.

I was really looking forward to seeing this in Theartres.  Too bad for me, it's going straight to DVD.  It was announced just yesterday that Sony will be releasing the film stright to Bluray and DVD on September 21st.  This news comes with the first release of the trailer, which I think is sweet.  Let me know what you think.

It's a simple concept for a trailer but I think it does the job nicely. I think this movie is going to deliver.

Charlie St. Cloud - Theatrical Trailer

I think this movie looks great. This newest trailer shows a new side to the movie; the side where the new love interest gets stranded out at sea. It just adds to the drama. I will probably see this movie in theatres.

Twilight Saga Eclipse - Movie Review

I saw the Twilight Saga Eclipse last night at midnight, and with all Twilight films I am glad that I went on opening night.  First; it's good to know what everyone is talking about, and second; there is no experience like a Twilight film at midnight, it's electric.

Eclipse so far is my favorite Twilight film to come out.  The acting was better, the directing was better, and the special effects were better.  Everything has just improved so much since the series first hit the big screen.

I was disappointed in a few things.  Bryce Dallas Howard took over in the character of Victoria.  Her acting was cheesy and not very believable.  I'm not sure she was a good fit.  In the action you couldn't tell it was a new person, but in her speaking lines, it was painfully obvious that this girl was not built to be an angry vampire.

The editing had it's moments.  I was not a huge fan of the opening.  I liked the idea of it, but thought it came out rushed and choppy.  This was apparent in other parts that as well.  I think they needed a few more shots to make the sequence work out better.  Along with the editing, some transitions were awkward.  Just a bit forced.

Other than that the film was visually beautiful.  I would see it again just for the prettiness of it all.  The new character of Riley was great.  I wouldn't have minded if he had more face time.  This installment did a good job of providing background to characters other than Edward, Bella and Jacob.  You see the back story to Rosalie and Jasper and scratch a little more of the werewolf surface.

I think I say the rest in my video review below so check that out.

Rating: 3.0★ stars (out of 5)
Recommendation: Twilight fans and those curious about Twilight will love this film.  You can't go into it expecting a cinematic masterpiece or you will be disappointed.  It merely a fun fan movie. There is no need to see this film in IMAX.  It wasn't filmed for IMAX so don't waste your money.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows : Part 1 - Official Trailer [HD]

Toy Story 3 - Movie (in 3D)

Hey everyone!  It's been a long time since I have done a legitimate review so I think I will just jump with this amazing movie.

Toy Story 3 is a tear jerking family fun film that tugs at your heart strings from start to finish.  I absolutely had to see this movie, not only because it is the the third film in a series that I love, but because it had such great reviews from everyone who had seen it before me.

In this third installment Andy (the toy's owner) is going off to college and he has to box up and clean his room.  Part of this is deciding whether or not to throw-away, put in the attic or take them to college, while his sister Molly is donating some toys of her own.  Andy bags his toys to be put in the attic, but after some confusion, his Mom puts them on the curb for the trash collector.  The toys decide that instead of ending up in a land fill they decide to donate themselves to the Sunny Side Daycare.  There the toys learn the new meaning of "playtime".

First, I would like to say that this movie is incredible.  The story is really what pulls the whole franchise together.  The characters have grown so much from the first installment was introduced 11 years ago.  There are some very gripping moments towards the end.  There wasn't a single dry seat in the house.  But  for every tear there is a laugh.  This was a very funny movie.  So every audience member is taken on a full emotional roller coaster.

Check out my video for a full review.

Rating: 5.0★ stars (out of 5)
Recommendation: This is a great family film, but anyone will enjoy it.  I recommend that everyone see this movie.  Now I saw it in 3D and it cost me $14.  I don't think it is necessary to see it in 3D.  Things don't fly out at you.  If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't see it in 3D.

Smurfs: The Movie - Trailer

Can you believe it?  3D is the craze right now and I am simply finding it hard to believe that someone thought bringing the Smurfs back was a good idea.  On YouTube it's nearly 50/50 for likes and dislikes.  But who knows.  I know nothing about the plot yet, but it should make for an interesting visual movie.  Check out the trailer below.

The Last Song - Featurette

So it should come as no surprise that I love Nickolas Sparks and his wonderful love stories.  The man is romantic genius.  His newest novel t film adaptation is called the Last Song, and the story sounds amazing, BUT...(and that's a big "but") Miley Cyrus is starring in it.  Ok no offense but there is a big leap in the learning curve form Disney Channel TV shows to a major motion picture of a beloved novel.  I don't know who did the casting but they clearly wanted the brand power that Miley has.  I hope it works out for her the way it did for Mandy Moore (who, I might say, I wasn't sure about either when she was cast in her role for A Walk To Remember).  I'm not really a fan of Miley, but the rest of the cast looks amazing and so does the setting.  I will probably see it and hope for the best.

A-Team - Trailer

Bradley Cooper is on fire folks.  He is landing role after role after role.  Now he is in the A-Team.  I don't know much about the A-Team or the story line, but I know Bradley Cooper is looking hot Hot HOT!

I think Rampage Jackson, the UFC fighter, is taking over for Mr. T. That should be interesting.

Some of these scenes are crazy.

Dear John - Tv Spots

There are hardly words for how badly I want to see this movie.  Channing Tatum has got to be one of the hottest males actors alive, and after Mamma Mia Amanda Seyfried's career exploded.  I want to see this movie sooooo bad.  Nickolas Sparks has this amazing way of writing that transcends mediums really really well.  Check out the TV-spots.  I swoon every time I see them.

Legion - TV spot

Sony is really pushing this movie hard.  But I'm not sure why.  It just doesn't look that appealing to me.

Knight and Day - Trailer

Now this looks like what an action comedy should be.  It looks funny and Tom Cruise is back.  Even if he is crazy the man can act like none other.  I will probably see this if I can get someone to go with me.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz star in the action-comedy KNIGHT AND DAY. During their glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure, nothing and no one even the now fugitive couple are what they seem. Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust.

Our Family Wedding - Trailer

Wow.  This movie has a pretty stellar cast.  I never would have guessed that Forest Whitaker would try for a comedic role.  It just doesn't quite sit well with him.  That being said, I think this film looks pretty funny.  It's kind of cliche with it's two different families coming together kind of story line, but it looks like it's taking a slightly different approach.  Probably won't see this in theatres but I definitely will see it.

In this clash-of-cultures comedy, two overbearing dads must put aside their differences to plan the wedding of their son and daughter in less than two weeks.
Starring Forest Whitaker, America Ferrera, Carlos Mencia, Regina King, and Lance Gross. In Theaters March 12!

Repo Men - Trailer

This trailer is particularly interesting to me because I love Jude Law, and I've worked with Forest Whitaker before.  You probably don't believe me but it's true.  I will only post in what if someone comments.  But anyway, I think this trailer looks really good.  My dad loves watching the television show Operation Repo, so I've seen this kinda stuff before, but the futuristic spin on it is really interesting.  I will probably see this in theatres.  I've never seen Jude Law quite so BA, and I dig it.

Cop Out - Trailer

Trailer

My friend loves loves loves Bruce Willis, so for that reason, she will probably drag me to this movie.  To me, it only seems moderately funny.  I think the trailer could have been done a little bit better, cause it just doesn't entice me to want to go.

Release Date: 26 February 2010

Cast: Bruce Willis, Jason Lee, Michelle Trachtenberg, Seann William Scott, Rashida Jones, Adam Brody
Director: Kevin Smith
Writers: Robb Cullen, Mark Cullen
Studio: Warner Brothers

Plot:
A comedy about two cops whose adventures include locating a stolen baseball card, rescuing a woman, and dealing with gangsters and their laundered money.

The Warlords - Trailer

This looks like a sweet epic battle movie.  But I have a feeling it will be completely subtitled.  I hate to say it, but I am less likely to see a movie with subtitles because it really is more work.

http://www.warlordsmovie.com/
Release Date: 27 October 2009
Genre: Action
Cast: Jet Li, Andy Lau, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Jinglei Xu
Director: Peter Chan, Wai Man Yip

Set in the midst of war and political upheaval during the Taiping Rebellion of the 1860s, WARLORDS stars Jet Li as General Pang, who barely survives a brutal massacre of his fellow soldiers by playing dead, and joins a band of bandits led by Er Hu (Andy Lau) and Wu Yang (Takeshi Kaneshiro). After fighting back attackers from an helpless village, the three men take an oath to become blood brothers, pledging loyalty to one another until death, but things quickly turn sour and the three men become embroiled in a web of political deceit, and a love triangle between Pang, Er Hu and a beautiful courtesan (Wu Jing-Lei).

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Featurette

I bought this game for my brother a few years ago.  There is no way that I would have placed Jake Gyllenhaal would be the Prince of Persia.  He is very pretty though, and seems to do the role justice.  In the featurette I see some cheesy graphics but for the most part this looks like a pretty sweet movie.  I also didn't expect this to be a Disney film, but it is.

Featurette

Release Date: 28 May 2010
Genre: Adventure
Cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Gísli Örn Garðarsson
Director: Mike Newell
Writers: Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard
Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Plot:
Based on the video game, which follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.

District 13 Ultimatum - featurette

I never saw District 13 because I heard so many mixed reviews.  I had no idea they were planning on doing a sequel.  The first one was so politically motivated that I get annoyed.  I hate it when Hollywood types try and tell me what I should believe or vote for.  This one looks like it is similarly motivated, but I love the street running aspect.  I feel like I would be more likely to watch this one.

The Karate Kid - Trailer

I know I already posted this, but I found One I could embed for all the people who don't like to click on links out there.

Toy Story 3 - Preview

Toy Story 3

Another Toy Story 3 preview and it makes me happy.
